Welcome to Online Tech Tips – one of four tech sites belonging to the AK Internet Consulting (AKIC) media network.
Our mission is simple – to bring you the very best the Internet has to offer and to explain tech in an easy-to-understand way. We realize that not everyone understands tech perfectly, which is why we try not to overwhelm you with industry jargon and hard-to-understand instructions.
We’ve been around since 2007 and we’ve published thousands of articles that have been viewed over 350 million times over the last decade. For our two main sites, Online Tech Tips and Help Desk Geek, we average about 110,000 – 120,000 visitors a day and between 3 and 3.5 million page views a month on each site.
Online Tech Tips is our original website that started back in 2007 and currently gets around 3.8 million page views a month and is growing rapidly. The main purpose of Online Tech Tips is to provide readers with daily computer tutorials, technology news, software reviews, and personal computing tips.
OTT was started by Aseem back in February of 2007 as a way to note down all of the cool websites and free software applications that he found on the Internet. After a while, he began to write a couple of tutorials that helped him out with his daily tasks while working in IT.
Since that time, he has written well over 3000 articles on topics ranging from Windows to databases. He enjoys blogging because it not only provides a service to the people who read the blog, but also broadens his knowledge and understanding of the Internet. Currently, Aseem no longer writes articles himself but focuses on creating a great team to help expand the AKIC sites and brand.

He took a giant risk and quit his job in 2010 to become a full-time professional blogger. He also bought a house and had a kid at the same time! But with big risks, came big rewards and he never looked back. He is married to Malini, is a father of two children, and lives in Maryland. |

He was a writer and editor for LoveToKnow.com and served as Managing Editor of MakeUseOf.com from 2014-2017. Ryan has presented at the OSIsoft National Conference in San Francisco in 2014 and was been featured on national TV (History Channel and Canada’s Vision TV), as well as on radio and various podcasts. Ryan attended the University of Maine at Orono, earning a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. About the AKIC Network
Though we started out with only Online Tech Tips in 2007, we quickly expanded our network to cover other areas in tech not covered by OTT. We now cover everything from gadgets and smartphones to Linux guides and virtualization.
Help Desk Geek – Started in 2009 with only a small audience, HDG has become as popular as OTT. We cover mostly the same topics, but HDG has a stronger focus on troubleshooting tips and guides, hence the name. We want to provide solutions that will help you avoid calling the help desk.
The Back Room Tech – Founded in 2010, TBRT is geared mainly towards IT Pros. We focus mostly on tech topics like networking, servers, virtualization, Linux, and cloud computing.
Switching to Mac – Also founded in 2010, STM covers all things Apple-related. This includes iPhone, iPad, Mac computers, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and more. We also share troubleshooting tips and how-to guides related to Apple products.
